Two years after the success of their 1973 album The Dark Side of the Moon, Pink Floyd members – Roger Waters, David Gilmour, Richard Wright and Nick Mason – meet at the legendary Abbey Road Studios to record their next album. The centerpiece of this new concept album is the nine-part "Shine on you crazy diamond", dedicated to Syd Barrett, a founding member and tortured genius, who was forced to leave the group in 1968. Upon leaving, Wish you were here tops the UK and US charts. This film goes back to the genesis of the album and the recording sessions, which were not easy. Exceptional interviews with Roger Waters, David Gilmour and Nick Mason, and their collaborators – such as Storm Thorgerson, cover designer – are complemented by archival footage, including an interview with Richard Wright, who died in 2008.
